Casa Suerte is a project created by Celeste Quesada. Through her work as an artist, collaborator, activist and real estate professional, Celeste loves to build community. She approaches each endeavor, from event production to philanthropy, as an opportunity to create sacred space and ceremony.
Celeste is a first-generation immigrant born and raised in Austin, Texas. Known for creating community by weaving together her 25+ years of working within the cultural arts, social impact, home-building worlds, she loves to inspire, educate, and share her expertise with others. She was the co-founder of Cine Las Americas, and has worked with numerous non-profits. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for I Live Here I Give Here, is on the Leadership Council for American Gateways and EQ. She also serves on the Music Commission for the city of Austin.
She has brought this same innovative, tenacious and unique approach to her work as a Realtor, where Celeste specializes in helping creatives break into the housing market. Using her design and architecture savvy, Celeste helps clients reimagine what home could be. She is – in essence – a home maker.
Casa Suerte’s design ethos is a reflection of Celeste’s lifelong love of picking through estate sales and yard sales. Its mix of high brow/low brow greets visitors instantly with curated library shelves of pulp fiction and fantasy paperbacks. Tarot cards nestled in a bowl. Moroccan wall hangings and English wallpaper. Kitchen shelves stocked with brightly colored Fiestaware. A typewriter with a fresh ribbon. A creative space designed to inspire. A nest to hatch something wonderful.
